Why do families access SPARC?

SPARC is a famly-centered program providing auditory-verbal therapy and (re)habilitation services to children with a hearing loss. SPARC assists the famliy in facilitating their child's optimal usage of amplification to develop speech and language skills. Meaningful interactions with family members facilitates the growth of communication skills, therefore, parental participation is an essential part of the therapeutic process. Children who do not benefit significantly from traditional amplification may benefit from cochlear implantation and SPARC helps parents explore this option.

Who is entitled to the service?

Children with a hearing loss ranging from mild to profound are eligible. Referrals are received from family, physicians, audiologists, otolaryngologists, and other professionals.
