Olympus IX71 Microscope with fluorescent source and digital imaging system
The Olympus IX71 microscope has 2 standard objectives (10x-60x) and is attached to a digital imaging system capable of taking regular and fluorescent digital images. Users will require a memory key to save and transport images collected on the system. Olympus TH4-100 halogen light source and Exfo X-Cite fluorescent light sources are available (UV, blue, DAPI, FITC, and Texas Red). All fluorescent use must be recorded.
This instrument is located in B38.
Please contact Adi Manek or Heather Neufeld for training prior to booking and using this instrument.
Aperio Virtual Microscopy System
The Aperio Virtual Microscopy system allows for high-resolution scanning of coverslipped slides for further external analyses and publication.
Training and set up of a user account and profile with server storage space is required prior to the use of this instrument.
All equipment use must be booked in advance. Regular hours of use are 8 am to 7 pm, Mon-Fri (due to network and equipment support restrictions). Any after-hours use must be cleared prior to scheduling on a case by case basis by pre-arrangement with Todd Reichert or Heather Neufeld.
Once scanned, the images can be viewed by the user on any computer by logging into the Imagescope ESlide management online system.
Please contact Todd Reicher or Heather Neufeld for training and access to this instrument or more information on how this system can assist you in your research.
