Upcoming design consultant activity in the Health Sciences Building
Beginning in January 2025, building occupants will begin to see increased design consultant activity within various sections of the building.
To accommodate new and expanding health science programs at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) with funding made possible through the provincial government’s Health Human Resources (HHR) Action Plan, plans to modernize and refine spaces in the Health Sciences Building are currently underway as part of the Making the Most of Our Health Sciences Building Project.
Beginning in January 2025, building occupants will begin to see increased design consultant activity within various sections of the building. Due to the interdependent nature of mechanical systems such as wiring, ventilation, etc., all areas of the building will be made available for assessment; however, every effort will be made to keep disruptions to a minimum and to provide advance notice in cases where infrastructure access would cause an interruption.
Some spaces in the Health Sciences Building require abatement and renovation as they have not been upgraded since they were originally constructed in the 1970s and others require customized renovation to accommodate new or expanding academic programming and research.
As a reminder, those directly impacted by space optimization activity in the Health Sciences Building will be notified through their college, school, or unit as project details are confirmed.
In addition to accommodating the influx of new students, faculty, staff, and equipment associated with new and expanding health care programs at the university, USask will be able to enhance the overall utilization of the Health Sciences Building once the optimization of its spaces is complete.
