Ways to Participate

Abstract submission

Graduate students, undergraduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and dentistry and medical residents in the health sciences are invited to submit an abstract for judging at the poster session on May 5.

The poster session is limited to the first 150 participants, who will also receive a complimentary ticket to the May 4 gala dinner.

The deadline to submit an abstract is end-of-day April 16, 2017. Applicants can expect their notice of acceptance by April 18.

Awards dinner

The gala dinner on May 4 will also serve to honour extraordinary student research and faculty leadership in the health sciences. The deadline for all three awards is end-of-day April 16, 2017. Students do not have to participate in the poster session to nominate themselves or a supervisor. Winners will be notified via email and will receive a complimentary ticket to the gala dinner, where they will receive their award. 

 

Best paper award

This award, open to undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and medical and dental residents, recognizes exceptional published work in a peer-reviewed journal. Entrants must be a senior author in a paper published since July 1, 2015.

Best supervisor award

Students can nominate an oustanding supervisor for this award. They do not have to participate in the competition or attend the symposia to submit a nomination.

Registration for FRAME workshop

We will be awarding one free admission to the FRAME Training School in Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis of Biomedical Experiments (valued at $750 CAD). This course, held May 31June 2 in Saskatoon, is intended provide researchers with experimental design and statistical knowledge to increase awareness about the need to reduce animal numbers in experiments and to refine procedures.

This prize is open to graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and dentistry and medical residents. Entrants must declare how their research could benefit from attending this course.
